Exactal Culture

Exactal’s founders recognised a void in the construction estimating software industry and turned a problem into a business. The products on the market at that time were nowhere near as innovative and truth be told, even a little counter intuitive. Exactal was established in late 2003 to rectify this clear issue- linking drawings and estimates together.

Exactal has had exceptional growth since inception, expanding into 9 offices servicing the world. We have sold products to customers in over 80 countries.

Working in the tech space continual innovation is a necessity to survive and to thrive. However innovation cannot be mandated or bolted on, it must be a fabric of everything that everyone at Exactal does. Exactal endorses and utilitises a macro management, MBO, approach where goals are jointly developed and employees are entrusted to determine and run down their own path to achieve them. Achieving our objective results is what matters.

While individual innovation and objective achievement is crucial in adding value for a business, teamwork multiplies the effectiveness of the individual’s work. Teamwork, or synergy, delivers enhanced performance far beyond the sheer sum of its members’ single contribution. Regular team meetings, be they formal, informal or adhoc, allows teams to recognise and appreciate what other are doing and helps to remove roadblocks and exploit opportunities. At the conclusion of each quarter, we review major developments and objective results so that our sails can be set in optimal fashion for the journey into the future. The transparent approach of seeing goal achievement across any and all groups of the company increases accountability one gives themselves in relation to their team, as well as an increased sense of value to the company and the role you play.
