CostX & AWS
Exactal is pleased to advise that, with the release of CostX® 6.7, CostX® now has new deployment options via AWS (Amazon Web Services).
AWS is a leading cloud computing provider offering a secure cloud services platform, which includes compute power, database storage, content delivery and other functionality.
CostX® 6.7 provides support for AWS cloud deployments in a number of ways, one of which is Amazon AppStream 2.0. With AppStream 2.0, CostX® can be accessed through a web browser interface from any remote device, anywhere the user has an internet connection, meaning application management is simplified. Detailed guidance documentation on how to deploy CostX® in the cloud using Amazon AppStream 2.0 is provided for users under maintenance.
There is also the option to have CostX® Server deployed to an AWS Virtual Private Cloud, which can be connected to a CostX® AppStream 2.0 deployment or a variety of other client deployment options. For example, CostX® is now officially certified as Citrix Ready, providing the option to combine AWS with technologies such as Citrix XenApp or Citrix XenDesktop for CostX® client deployment.
In addition, CostX® 6.7 fully supports native cloud storage for drawing files hosted in Amazon S3, including both 2D plans and 3D models.
Chief Technology Officer Adam Lipinski states “The AWS compatibility for CostX® is another important initiative resulting from our strategic technical review, which is designed to ensure that our Exactal products are the front of the line when it comes to technological advancement in the industry. Given the prevalence of AWS in the cloud environment, it was certainly a necessary addition to our CostX® 6.7 release.”
